Rebuild Bone to Qualify for Dental Implants
Bone Loss Hinders Dental Implant Placement
Dental implants are the ideal solution to tooth loss, but a good candidate must have adequate bone volume to hold the implant in place. Bone loss is a common problem for many people and is caused by a variety of reasons including unreplaced teeth, oral trauma, and periodontal disease.
At Dental Visions, we are able to restore your bone volume to acceptable levels for implants through a technique called bone grafting. Once your bone is healthy and strong, we will be able to place your dental implants and restore your smile.
Bone Grafting Restores Bone Volume to the Jaw
When we perform a bone grafting procedure to restore your jaw, a small amount of bone tissue is required. This bone can be taken from you or a donor source and is converted into granules for placement. We will add these bone granules to the affected location and allow it to heal. We use plasma rich growth factors (PRGF) to speed up the healing process by taking plasma from your own blood and adding the PRGF to the grafting location. Once healed, your jaw will have the adequate bone levels for dental implants to be placed successfully.
We strive to make all our procedures as painless and minimally invasive as possible.
Experienced Doctors with Gentle Care
We strive to make all our procedures as painless and minimally invasive as possible. Through sedation, we use local anesthesia to numb the area where a bone graft will take place and block the sensation of pain. We also offer nitrous oxide to calm those who experience dental fear or anxiety. With our experienced doctors and staff, your bone graft procedure will leave you with a restored jawline ideal for dental implants. After implant surgery, you can enjoy the confidence of a functional, aesthetically pleasing smile once again.
